Q. What do I need to do to ensure that the transfer of my existing number goes smoothly?

A. Transferring your existing phone number to your new cell phone is easy. Just take these three steps to ensure that everything goes smoothly. STEP 1. When you submit your order you'll be asked for your existing number along with the account number of your current carrier. It's rare that a number can't be ported, but if this does happen we'll contact you for alternative arrangements. After you receive your new cellular phone the number should be transferred within 24 hours. You'll be able to check the status of the transfer request online in real-time. STEP 3. Once you phone number has been ported to your new phone and carrier you will no longer be able to use the number with your previous carrier.
